Supporting the Treatment of Cancer with Ayurveda

Digestive Health

Cancer is a disease that is known to grow out of control and affect the tissues and the organs. It is a dreaded word, and rightfully so. When toxins collect in an area of the body, it may result in further fatal growth in the surrounding cells. Nearby cells are also affected if the toxins are not removed because the diseased cells are circulated throughout the body by the blood stream.

Fortunately, Ayurveda has a perspective on cancer that could be helpful.

Cancerous cells do not die as they should, but instead continue to grow and divide. There can be several causes for a type of cancer. Some of the common reasons include:

  • Damages or mutation in the DNA resulting in the damage to the genes involved in cell division

  • Genetic predisposition

  • Carcinogens such as tobacco, asbestos, arsenic, radiation, ultraviolet rays and car exhaust fumes

  • Alcohol use

  • Obesity

There are many different symptoms, and these vary greatly depending on the person and the type and location of the cancer.

  • Fever

  • Fatigue

  • Pain

  • Unusual bleeding

  • Nagging cough

  • Indigestion problems or trouble swallowing.

  • Unexplained weight loss

  • Skin changes
