Dhanwantaram is a widely used Ayurvedic formula that is highly effective for breathlessness, severe cough, chronic hiccups, giddiness, nausea, antenatal and postpartum care, neurological pain and fatigue.
The potency of this herbal formula is indicated by its name. Lord Dhanvantari, considered the father of Ayurvedic Medicine, is prayed to for blessings of good health. The Indian government declared Lord Dhanvantari’s birthday as "National Ayurveda Day."
Dhanwantaram has several types of preparations
There are a variety of classical formulas made from this herbal preparation which includes arishtam, oil for both external and internal use, soft gel capsules, gulika, kashayam and lotion.
Dhanwantara Arishtam is useful for vata vyadhi of varied etiology especially traumatic origin and post-natal care. The main ingredients include guda (sugar), honey and sida cordifolia.
Dhanwantaram Oil is useful for neuromuscular and skeletal disorders of vata origin, helps prevent vatavyadhi, beneficial for pre-and postnatal care, sneha basti and matra basti. The main ingredients are Sesamum indicum, eranda tailam, ghritam, and sida cordifolia. Available in 200ml and 5-liter variants.
Dhanwantaram Kuzhampu is more potent for external application on the body than the Dhanwantaram oil in rheumatic complaints. The main ingredients are Sesamum indicum, Eranda tailam, ghritam, and Sida cordifolia.
Dhanwantaram (101) Oil is useful for neuromuscular and skeletal disorders of vata origin, helps prevent vata vyadhis, beneficial for pre-and post-natal care. The main ingredients are Sesamum indicum, Eranda tailam, ghritam, and Sida cordifolia. Indicated for internal consumption it comes in 10 ml bottle.
Dhanwantaram (101) Soft Gel Capsules is useful for neuromuscular and skeletal disorders of vata origin, helps prevent vatavyadhi, beneficial for pre-and postnatal care. The main ingredients are Sesamum indicum, eranda tailam, ghritam, and Sida cordifolia. Available in a gelatin capsule.
Dhanwantaram Gulika is useful in Asthma, dyspnoea, hiccup, cough and gastric disorders.
Mahadhanwantaram Gulika (Garbharakshini) is useful for Ante-natal care, acid peptic disease, gastric discomfort.
Dhanwantaram Kwatham (kashayam in tablet form) is useful for post-natal care, bone fracture, anxiety, mental stress, digestive gas, fever, pelvic inflammatory disease, urinary obstruction and hernia. The main herb is sida cordifolia plus 40 other herbal ingredients.
Dhanwantaram Cream this is a time-tested topical remedy that supplements the oral product Dhanwantaram Kwatham (tablets). The cream is a modified version of the familiar ayurvedic Dhanwantaram Oil. Useful for chronic low back pain, spondylosis, fibromyalgia, bursitis, musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain, and fatigue.
